Top 10 feelings.

[10]. Its Christmas time and all the lights are up, decorating everything. It is freezing outside and there is even an occasional snowflake. Somewhere there are Christmas songs playing. So there you are with your beanie on, either outside, or just in your car, with a peppermint stick and drinking hot cocoa. There will always be the small thing inside of you that gets excited at the arrival of Christmas Day.

[9.] You're riding in your car with the windows down and sun heating everything around you. The wind is slightly blowing. It isn't quite warm enough to be considered 'hot', but with the sun's warmth, it feels warm enough. You're somewhere peaceful, thinking about whatever is on your mind. The perfect song comes on and no matter what worries you had, just by looking at the white clouds and blue sky, you know that everything is going to be alright.

[8.] You're out on a Friday night with your friends in a loud, busy place. The previous week at school/work was terrible and this is the first time you've had to take a breath for yourself. So there you are in a restaurant waiting for the food and just laughing and enjoying each other's company. Your laughter gets lost in everyone else's and you become part of everyone else who had the same bad week-the same people who are doing the same thing you are: forgetting about the bad. Enjoying the good.

[7.] Home. After being gone for a long period of time, whether on vacation or 'obligation' or (I am assuming this part) if you no longer live at home, and you come home. You can sit down and watch your t.v. on your bed or couch and you can eat your favorite foods. There is nothing else like that feeling of belonging.

[6.] After being at the beach all day long and getting the right amount of sun, you go back in and change into "summery" clothes and go out with friends/family to one of those beach side restaurants...the kind that overlook the ocean. You order some kind of girly fruit drink and seafood and you just sit there watching the sun set, feeling relaxed and perfectly content, forgetting about the problems at home.

[5.] Going to a show to see a good band. Said band plays your favorite song by them and everyone else around you is able to sing the words, too. Knowing that these people all share different memories and meanings, yet all equal in quality, makes you smile.

[4.] This is one that I don't know how to put in general terms, so here's my perpective on it. I'm sure everyone has had a feeling close to it.

2 summers ago there was a group of people that I hung out with towards the end of that summer. There was a period of time where everynight was almost the same. We didn't do much, but somehow it wound up being the best. One of the nights we went to someone's (Amy's dad's house for those of you who were there) house and sat in her brother's room in the basement. There must have been twelve people crammed into that room. I don't remember exactly how long we were all down there. I remember at about 3am or so, some of the guys left and went and came back to bring us McDonalds's. I think the guys wound up leaving around 5:30 or 6 and the remaining 4 girls all passed out on the fouton. Her brother's room has no windows or anything, so we woke up thinking it was only about 9 and when we walked upstairs, it was noon and her stepmom was putting lunch on the table.

Now, you probably have to have once eaten at Amy's dads to understand the excellent-ness in Sunday lunches there, but they are hardcore southern and super awesome. Waking up to that after the complete fun and stupid-ness of the night before...it was awesome.

[3.] Have you ever had a talk with someone that gets so involved and deep that you feel connected in some way to that person? I don't really know how to elaborate, but if you ever had one of those talks, you know the feeling.

[2.] When you have a crush and everytime you see that person of hear their name, your stomach hurts and your heart skips a beat. Yeah. Finding out they feel the same towards you...that beats all. Amazing how knowing they don't and never will definitely qualifies as number one on the 'Top 10 worst feelings.'

[1.] Waking up in the middle of the night to find someone you care about sleeping next to you. Being able to feel them breathe and to feel their arms wrapped around you...I can't explain the feeling of contentment. Until you experience it, you will never understand. My only hope for you is that you can one day feel this, too.
