There is no greater feeling than riding with good friends, windows down, perfect song playing, knowing that all that lies ahead is fun. This is a feeling that can only be accomplished through two words: road trip. Going on a road trip can be an extremely relaxing experience when the right methodical steps are taken. Without these steps and precaution, fun cannot lie ahead. There is only one thing in store for a person who does not follow these steps: disaster.
Going on a road trip involves much preparation and planning. Above all else, the first thing that needs to be accomplished is making the decision of the final destination. Without a destination, a road trip is nonexistent. Once this decision is made, the �technical� factors come into play. One needs to sit down with a road map and decide the route which will be the easiest and safest. After that, the real excitement can begin.
An important, but not necessary, thing to take into consideration is whether or not accompaniment is needed or desired. Often times, having another person in the car can be needed. There is nothing worse than pure solitude on a ten hour car ride. However, if the trip is short, one may decide that it is more efficient and easier to go alone.
Assuming that more than one person is involved in the road trip, the people next need to get together and go food shopping. This may not sound vital to a trip, but without the right snacks, the road trip just is not complete. Many things need to be taken into consideration while doing this step. How much money can one spend? What does the group as a whole prefer? Food shopping needs to remain stress free. A person should not worry over the food to buy. One should always keep in mind that the road trip is all for fun.
Another step that may not seem as important as it is is making a good mix tape and compiling together good music. Every road trip needs a signature �tape or c.d.� so that a person can look back on it one day and remember the good times. Also, without the correct music, the trip is destined for a bad time. The perfect soundtrack brings one closer to experiencing the perfect road trip.
A person needs to next pack, keeping in mind the following factors: the length of the trip, the weather expected, and the events planned. Loading the car and getting everyone together completes the �road trip process�. Once these tedious steps are finished, with caution and awareness, a person can get in the car and head onto the open road with (or without) friends.
Road trips have the ability to bring out much fun and entertainment. Not only is the fun had in the final destination usually worth it, but the car ride alone is. The memories made in the car on the way to places and events tend to be the ones that people cherish the most. As long as the �road trip steps� are taken and safety is always used, one can only have the best of a time.
