nothing worthwhile
just a bunch of growing up
why can't we just be born all grown up?
isn't high school supposed to be the best time of our lives?
i haven't seen what's so great
13 there were late nights at the skating rink and stupid crushed and titanic
14 there were late nights talking about memories from 13, going to the mall, and stupid crushes
15 there are late nights crying and wishing the crush was a stupid one
and people wonder why teenagers are depressed
they always say "you have your future"
but if the future is half as bad as now, why should we go there?
and parents sometimes forget
they forget that we have other things going on in our lives
if we roll our eyes at them they think we hate them
but its not them we hate
its the world
and we have the right to hate the world
because the world hates us
but that doesn't mean we're all going to dress in black and go crazy
we still know how to smile
and laugh
and dream
and live
and we will
because the world only hates us on days that our hearts get broken
and we only hate the world on those very same days
